How It Works
Every job starts by working out what the substrate is and what is sitting on top of it. Bare structural steel with mill scale is a different problem to a painted panel with three coats and body filler underneath, and the two do not want the same abrasive. Once that is settled we mask and contain the work area, dial in media and pressure, and blast to the level of cleanliness the next coating actually needs.
Media choice does most of the work. A coarse, hard abrasive cuts quickly and leaves a deep anchor profile, which is what heavy industrial coatings want to grip. Something finer or softer cleans the surface without biting into the base metal underneath. Pressure is the second lever, and on thin panels it comes down well before it comes up.
What to Expect on Site
On site we need somewhere to park the rig and a clear path to the work. Depending on what is around the piece, containment can mean screens and sheeting, or it can mean choosing a different method entirely — if dust is the real constraint, dustless blasting is usually the better answer. Spent media gets collected and hauled out; we do not leave grit behind.
Timelines move with square footage, how many coats are coming off, and how awkward the access is. A single piece of equipment can be a one-day job, while structural steel across a facility runs into several. We scope that before starting rather than discovering it halfway through, because a surprise mid-job is expensive for everyone.

Common Questions
Will sandblasting warp my metal?
It can if the pressure is wrong for the thickness. Heat and force build up on thin panels and sheet, which is exactly why pressure and media get matched to the substrate instead of running everything at one setting.
Does the work happen on site or at your shop?
Either. Large structures and anything that cannot be moved get the mobile rig. Smaller or detail pieces are often better in the shop, where conditions are controlled and weather is not a factor.
How soon does blasted steel need coating?
Quickly. Bare steel starts flash rusting within hours in Georgia humidity, which undoes the profile you just paid for. We coat in the same visit wherever the job allows.
Can you blast without removing surrounding equipment?
Usually, with containment. Tell us what is nearby and sensitive when you call so it is factored into the method and the setup rather than discovered on the day.
